It’s no secret that this winter has been a tough one for the restaurant industry here in Boston. The record-setting snowfall forced hundreds of eateries to close temporarily, negatively impacting restaurant employees, customers and the restaurant businesses themselves.

Thankfully, many Bostonians have been doing their part to #DigOutDineOut this winter. And now, it looks as though even Uber will be pitching in to support the city of Boston as well. The on-demand ride service announced yesterday that they will be offering $50,000 worth of rides to those who eat out at a local restaurant within the next week.

Here’s how it works: Diners who take an Uber to a participating restaurant and show their Uber receipt to the server, will automatically receive a code for $20 off their Uber ride home. The deal is valid through March 20.

Participating restaurants include: Abby Lane, Antico Forno, Back Bay Harrys, Brownstone, Central Wharf Co., Clerys, Coogan’s, Dillon’s, Empire, Estragon Tapas Bar, GEM, Granary Tavern, Grill 23, Kirkland Tap & Trotter, Post 390, Red Lantern, Sterling’s, Terramia Ristorante, The Black Rose, The Table Cambridge, and WestBridge.

With a discounted ride home in your pocket, all you need now are some dinner reservations. For more information on the deal, check out Uber’s blog post here.
