The Patriots take on the Cincinnati Bengals today in Paul Brown Stadium as Bill Belichick’s team (currently 4-0) tries to continue their undefeated start to the 2013 season. The Bengals, for many years considered to be a second-rate NFL franchise, have seemingly emerged from their longtime struggles with quality drafting and smart trading.

New England enters the game with more injury news to confront. The loss of Vince Wilfork for the season, coupled with the injury to Stevan Ridley  (as well as the continued absence of Rob Gronkowski), serve to create more obstacles for Tom Brady and the offense to overcome.

It should be a lower scoring game, with two very strong defenses.

Here are the GIFs of the game:

After a promising drive from Cincinnati, a Brandon Spikes interception in the red zone ended the threat:

A potentially dangerous Patriots drive was brought to an abrupt halt after LeGarrette Blount fumbled:

Now in the second half, it’s 6-3 Cincinnati, with both teams defenses’ locked in. This has largely been the story of the day for Tom Brady:

Former Patriot BenJarvus Green-Ellis scored the game’s first touchdown on a fourth and goal rush up the middle:

Aaron Dobson made a huge play to get the Patriots into field goal range. This made it 6-13 in the 4th quarter:

However, Julian Edelman dropped a crucial third and goal pass from Brady, forcing New England to kick a field goal, making the score 13-6:

And after a last second rally to the brink of scoring range, a Brady interception ended it. Bengals win 13-6:
