Here in Boston, we’re oh-so-fancy. At least, according to the restaurant discovery app Urbanspoon. The guide released their list of the most popular fine dining restaurants in major metropolitan cities and identified six fine dining restaurants in the Hub.

The popularity of the fine dining restaurants was based on where consumers enjoy the finest in food, service, and atmosphere in Boston. And we have to admit, it seems that Boston Urbanspoon users have pretty good taste. The restaurants below may serve up fine food and service but their atmospheres are anything but stuffy.

Without further ado, here are the six most popular fine dining restaurants in Boston.

Neptune Oyster

People will wait for hours to eat at Neptune Oyster. With limited seating, the popular North End restaurant is always full and always worth the wait. If you’re looking to class up your lobster roll, we recommend heading to this restaurant tonight.

Hamersley’s Bistro

The South End restaurant has been open for more than 20 years – proving that “fine dining” never goes out of style. Chef Gordon and Hamersley’s Bistro serve up some of the best seasonal fare around.

L’Espalier

Sophisticated would be the word I’d use to describe this Back Bay establishment. Chef Frank McClelland serves up French-inspired cuisine and plenty of (oh so fine) wine.

O Ya

The Japanese restaurant near Chinatown serves up some of the freshest nigiri and sashimi in Boston. And given that O Ya has been topping notable restaurant lists for years, we have to admit that it’s very fine, indeed.

Menton

The Fort Point restaurant is part of the Barbara Lynch empire and certainly qualifies as “fine dining.” I recommend trying the chef’s tasting menu at Menton for the full experience.

Rialto

With Chef Jody Adams behind the wheel at Rialto, you know it doesn’t disappoint. The Harvard Square restaurant serves up fine Italian dining, cooking classes and an exceptional wine program.
