Dear United States Coast Guard,
This writer can’t speak for WBUR, NECN and the Boston Globe. But he can speak for himself, and there’s something he has to admit: Yes, he completely missed the coyote running across a frozen Boston Harbor, cutting off your ice cutter, the Pendant, in the process. Daredevil.
You see, USCG, Thursday was rather extraordinary: two llamas were on the loose, in Sun City, Arizona; there was a black and blue dress – there was a white and gold dress – that made the internet question all we know about the human experience; and President Frank Underwood resumed his Oval Office duties at 3 a.m. ET, Friday morning.
As of this writing, your Facebook says you posted the picture of the coyote 18 hours ago. That would be, as of this writing, roughly 5:30 p.m. ET, Thursday afternoon.
Unfortunately, Buzzfeed published “What Colors Are This Dress” at 6:14 p.m. ET, Thursday evening.
But, for what it’s worth, USCG, the coyote picture never stood a chance. Because at 3:36 p.m. ET, Thursday afternoon, CNN published: “Llamas escape captivity, run free.”
Hopefully the coyote will be able to enjoy its time in the spotlight Friday – even if it’s a little late.
Most sincerely,
Nate
