Get excited! There’s a new food truck in town. Boston is now home to the first Uyghur food truck in America – and that, my friends, means plenty of tasty lamb and chicken kebabs coming your way soon.

According to Eater Boston, the food truck debuted today bringing a unique cuisine to the Hub’s food truck mix. For those unfamiliar with the Uyghur culture, the majority of the group hails from the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in Northwest China.

The mobile eats truck offers a simple menu with food inspired by both Central Asian and Chinese cuisine. Adding a bit of international flair, the kebab food truck is sure to be a hit with locals.

The Uyghur Kitchen menu consists of skewers, wraps and salads – with your choice of lamb kebab or chicken kebab. According to the website, lamb kebabs are a common street food for Uyghurs.

They come “marinated in a mixture of onion, garlic and pomegranate juice,” which “adds a kick of tartness to the lamb.” The Uyghur Kitchen food truck also adds “a mixture of cumin and salt as a finishing touch,” the standard seasoning for Uyghur lamb kebabs.

Sounds absolutely divine. The food truck is debuting today at The Commander’s Mansion in nearby Watertown until 2p.m. and then later at Opera Place near Northeastern at 3p.m. To see other locations and stops for the Uyghur Kitchen food truck, check here.
