The following video needs no real introduction.

For Valentine’s Day 2014, one survivor of the devastating Boston Marathon bombing treated not just her husband to some serious #BosonStrong lovin’ but the whole city as well. As seen in the video’s preface, Jessica and Patrick Kensky were spectators at Boston’s annual 26.2-mile race, situated near the finish line where two pressure cooker bombs combusted. Three were killed and the Kenskys were among the 264 who were seriously injured.

But when Jessica wanted to give Patrick a show of affection for Valentine’s Day, it evolved into a citywide affair, trending on social media as #Valentine4Boston. Just see for yourself.

Not to be excluded from the festivities were Pat the Patriot, the mascot for our beloved New England Patriots football team, and music from my man Michael Jackson.

In a more formal tribute, the Boston Athletic Association announced recently that they’re planning a special one-year-later commemoration on April 15 for those who were lost, injured, and responded to the bombings. It is to be hosted at the Hynes Convention Center, a stone’s throw from the Marathon finish line – which is also near where the flash mob took place – by emcees Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick.

Happy Valentine’s Day, Boston.
