Guster, the alternative band born out of Tufts University, is embracing their new honorary day in Boston by busking throughout the city. If you’re a Guster fan, we suggest you keep an eye on their Twitter feed.

Mayor Marty Walsh declared January 15 “Guster Day” as a thank you for the band’s dedication to environmental issues. Tonight, the band will perform at the Greenovate Boston Climate Action Plan launch celebration, during which the mayor and the Greenovate Boston committee will lay out both short and long term plans for making the city more energy efficient.

The celebration tonight is sold out, but you haven’t missed your chance to see Guster. According to their website, they’ll be playing free acoustic sets all day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The band wrote:

Random geographical coordinates for the shows will be revealed on twitter etc. Come say hi!

According to Twitter, the next set will be in Harvard Square at 11 a.m.

The band has been busy all morning, already packing in two sets, one outside of South Station and another outside of Twin Donuts in Allston. There’s still plenty of time to catch Guster – as they’ll be going strong until 6 p.m. – so pay attention their Twitter feed.
