According to Bustle, Boston residents have full rights to complain about these Polar Vortex-worthy cold temps. The online magazine listed the 20 big cities in America that experience the most extreme cold weather and freezing temperatures. Boston, of course, made the list (hooray?). But let’s face it – who wants to sits around complaining – not me.

So instead of complaining, we recommend that you start drinking some warm, (somewhat diluted) whiskey. For those who haven’t yet experienced the perfect winter cocktail – otherwise known as a “Hot Toddy,” we’ll help introduce you. The hot drink is normally served with whiskey (or brandy, if you prefer it sweet), mixed with either a hot tea or hot water – and accompanied with honey and lemon.

Of course, Hot Toddies do differ from place-to-place. An easy way to make one for yourself is to mix whiskey with hot, chamomile tea, honey and lemon. It’s perfection on a cold day like today. But of course if you’re looking to sip on a Hot Toddy at a bar, you’ll need to know where to go. Here are a few spots around town where you can find some version of the wintertime drink.
