Last year, I ate at chefs Philip Kruta and Jeremy Kean’s pop-up restaurant, Whisk, more times than I care to admit. The entire tasting menu was so incredible that I included everything in our weekly Dish of the Week series – and anxiously awaited to hear news of where the restaurant would pop up next.

Well now it looks like we can say goodbye to waiting and hello to the culinary duo’s new venture. The Restaurant Hub Blog of The Boston Globe is reporting that both Kruta and Kean will “serve New American plates and bar snacks” at the highly-anticipated Wink & Nod. The South End craft cocktail speakeasy plans to open March 15.

The Restaurant Hub also reports that originally the two chefs planned to open a restaurant in Jamaica Plain – but it looks like those plans have changed.

The Wink & Nod speakeasy is a Boston Nightlife Venture project and will open at 3 Appleton Street, where the former Latin American restaurant, Noche, used to be.

Last year, the BNV president Euz Azevedo told Eater Boston that the South End spot would feature “a serious craft cocktail program with a dinner menu that can be paired well with the inspired drinks and are encouraged to be shared.”

Now that we know the innovative Whisk team will be in the kitchen, we’re looking forward to the opening even more – if that’s possible.
