Today LG confirmed that a white-cased Nexus 4 smartphone by Google will be available in the U.S. within the next couple of weeks. Of course, rumors about this device have been floating around since last November but LG is now making it official and will officially launch the device in Hong Kong tomorrow.

According to Android Authority, the new Nexus 4 will be almost an exact replica of the current version, the only difference being the white case. Google’s handset still boasts a Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, a 4.7-inch 720p display, and an 8MP camera. There’s been no mention of price as of yet, though its unlikely to be pushed above the current and reasonable $299 price tag.

It had also been suggested that the white Nexus 4 would be outfitted with the latest upgrade of Android Jelly Bean, the 4.3 version. However, according to the same source it looks as though the Nexus 4 will still operate on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

Upon its initial release, the Nexus 4 garnered some rave reviews with many aficionados on the subject calling it the best Android smartphone on the market. The Samsung Galaxy S4 may be grabbing most of the headlines and pulling in reviews that are equally as enthusiastic but the Nexus 4 can still give it a run for its money with its smaller frame and convenient lack of exaggerated features.

The white Nexus 4 is expected to become directly available in Hong Kong tomorrow, May 29, and will be rolling out in select markets across Asia, North America, Europe, and the Middle East within the coming weeks.

Let’s hear from Nexus 4 users out there. How do you like your LG/Google conception? Would you ever trade it in for something higher-end like the iPhone 5 or Samsung Galaxy S4? How about people without the Nexus 4, would you ever consider switching over?
