Earlier this week, a report indicating leaked SKUs suggested that Apple could release updated versions of one of its laptops, unbeknownst to us, at the World Wide Developers conference which constitutes one of many WWDC 2013 rumors. However, a price leaks today suggests its the MacBook Air that will get a refresh at the WWDC with updates for faster Wi-Fi.

The leak comes from informative fan site 9to5mac which claims inside sources provided the information, though they fail to provide a link to any hard data. The price-points in question correspond to Apple’s current pricing for the 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Air models which confirms that the SKUs were in fact related to the MacBook Air.

Along with the rest of Apple’s supposed repertoire of electronic goodies, the MacBook Air refresh specs have been under lock and key. Te supply chain source, though, pegs Intel’s new Haswell chipsets as the processor of choice for the MacBook Air, delivering 50% improvement in battery life compared with the preceding CPU.

The MacBook Air could also be outfitted with a dual microphone system, perfect for video chatting. Similar Apple blog MacRumors thinks that along with the aforementioned upgrades, the Air could see  updated AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule wireless base stations that support a new, faster wireless standard. This would perfectly complement the OS X 10.8.4 support for the new Broadcom chipsets that allow for improved file downloading, transfers, and high-definition movie streaming, though along with iOS 7 and the MacBook Air techies are expecting Apple to roll out a new OS X 10.9 version which could also bring enhancements to Finder, Safari, multiple monitor support, and overall multitasking functionality.

As for the almighty price, 9to5mac says “Apple could drop the price slightly of the high-end MacBook Air in some countries” though whether or not the United States is included in that collection is still up in the air.
