The highly anticipated panel for Xbox One at Comic Con had Microsoft discussing its Kinect and next-generation technology this afternoon. Microsoft debuted the Xbox One console at its reveal event earlier this year and demonstrated some of its features at E3 back in June, but now Microsoft has given more insight into what the Xbox One is carrying under the hood as well as plenty of accompanying specs.

Kinect is the Xbox One’s wireless, motion-sensing controller. The 1080p camera lens understands joint rotations, balance and weight distribution, and even reads the user’s heart beat which of course will be great for using Xbox One for exercise, but it also bolsters the fact that motion-detection for navigating the One will be silky smooth.

Even more exciting is the fact that the controllers automatically recognize which specific user is holding the controller through the cam. When players opt to pass the controller from player to player, the games automatically loads the customized controller profiles for that user. Passing controllers around during a game now doesn’t require the user to back out to the options menu in order to change look inversion.

Dan Greenawalt, Creative Director of Turn10 which makes the motorsport racing game Forza, discussed the rumble motors in the controller. The individual rumble in the triggers now have the ability to provide feedback on aspects like tire performance, so users will have even more awareness of grip and braking. While that’s impressive, the video showing a Prague course in 1080p and 60fps was even more amazing, says IGN.

The Xbox One is now roughly 10x the resolution of the current Xbox 360 and the motion-sensing camera is so sharp that it can read the folds on a user’s face. Hand positions can also be read for better more accurate readings in, for example, bowling and rock climbing games. The engineering team has even created a target shooting game that employs the user’s hand and eye positions in place of an actual light gun.
