Today Apple issued a voluntary recall for the Beats Pill XL Bluetooth speaker due to a potential fire safety risk in rare cases. The product, developed by recent Apple acquisition Beats by Dre, contains a battery that may in some cases overheat and become a fire hazard.

The recall will certainly be a bit of a bummer for Apple and Beats, as the Beats Pill XL is Beats’ most popular speaker and one of the highest rated speakers on the market, earning 4.7/5 stars on Beats’ website and 4.8/5 stars on Best Buy.

Apple says that customers should stop using the device immediately and provides instructions for return and a refund here. Customers may receive either Apple Store credit or electronic payment of $325.

The Beats Pill XL has been endorsed by a bevy of celebrities, including the likes of Kendrick Lamar and was featured in a Say Anything-inspired commercial.

In the commercial, a hopeful suitor used his Pill XL to try and get the attention of Bollywood superstar Priyanka Chopra. Unfortunately, the young man in the advertisement might’ve had more success if his speaker were engulfed in flame … but for everyone else, Apple recommends returning the speaker ASAP.
