With the holiday season upon us, a group of motivated DC professionals is pooling their resources to organize grassroots efforts collecting clothes and prepared meals for homeless families in need this Thanksgiving. Donations will be distributed to families and individuals directly as well as to partnering shelters in the area.

On Wednesday, November 27th, members and friends of OneUmbrella Foundation are gathering for PhilanthrFEST One near McPherson Square where they will organize and hand out donations ranging from blankets and winter clothing to canned foods and prepared meals. Donations have been pouring in from individuals locally, but the biggest story may be how OneUmbrella Foundation was able to connect with local restauranteurs who have collectively committed to cooking and preparing thousands of meals to feed the hungry in Washington, DC.

Presenting partners for PhilanthroFEST include OneUmbrella Foundation, Global Voice Hall, and Student Intern Network.

Get more info here and feel free to head down to the 14th Street park this Wednesday to give back.
