Welcome to the second week of #CareerHacks – comin’ at you each and every Wednesday.

This week it is all about giving back. Some of the most rewarding business and personal relationships I have ever forged have been through philanthropic ventures, and there is certainly something to be said about that.

Career Hack of the Week: Volunteer!

Getting involved with a local non profit or sparing a few hours to help those in need goes a long way – especially for young adults. Separate yourself from the crowd by showing intiative and attention to the greater good. Create relationships with a foundation based on service and community to surround yourself with forward thinking, like-minded peers and professionals. The commitments don’t only look great on your resume, but prove that you understand the value of life’s greatest commodity: your time. Get involved with organizations you’re passionate about and you are sure to develop a sound social and professional network.
