ZuriWorks for Women’s Health is an exciting new start-up that strives to improve the lives of women impacted by cancer. They provide vital services like housecleaning, stipends for everyday expenses, complimentary health supportive services such as oncology, acupuncture, and massage. ZuriWorks focuses on meeting women and developing creative arts and community-based health programs to help prevent, overcome, and beat cancer. 

ZuriWorks is looking for energetic and self-driven Online Community Managers to strengthen, engage, and expand our online communities on our social media channels for an upcoming fundraising campaign for 10 hours per week. It is a virtual unpaid position that allows interns to work from their home. 

Responsibilities:

  • Foster a positive, respectful feeling in our social media channels through moderating and responding to community members
  • Help ensure high quality conversations in the upcoming online forum by starting and responding to topics thoughtfully and quickly
  • Collect images, articles, and other items to post and manage the social media editorial calendar for Facebook and Twitter
  • Manage our upcoming talk radio show and podcast
  • Find and pin images and videos to Pinterest
  • Write and add articles to Tumblr linking it to the ZuriWorks blog
  • Write and add articles ZuriWorks blog for publishing
  • Do analytic reports with site and social media metrics
  • Do online research when needed
  • Attend weekly team meetings and other team events (all virtual)
  • Other responsibilities as needed

Qualifications:

  • Strong desire to foster health engagement via social media and community-based health initiatives 
  • Strong desire to connect and engage with people and build a sense of community
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to communicate in a personal and emotionally engaging way
  • Excellent ability to organize and track many tasks at the same time
  • Experience with being a part of or managing online communities like membership sites, forums, online groups, etc
  • Experience with managing social media channels and writing effective copy
  • Self-directed and eager to meet or exceed objectives
  • Curious, innovative, ask question, generate new ideas and solutions
  • Eager to learn, willing to experiment knowing it might fail, and able to admit mistakes or inexperience
  • Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team
