About the Position:

Ketchum DC’s Summer Fellows work hand in hand with practices to learn the business, serve clients, and develop PR skills. They will assist with project research, writing, and media relations efforts to support client programs. Fellowships will also be available in our specialty areas which include Digital, Media, and Research, which generally require a more specific skill set. Seniors who demonstrate our core competencies and values at the end of the program may have the opportunity to interview for a full-time position as an Account Coordinator.

 

Responsibilities:
Ketchum fellows are assigned to client accounts where they apply their existing skills and learn new skills. Our fellows may be exposed to media training, research, media placement, event planning and a host of other topics. As an integral part of an account team, fellows may gain hands-on experience in publicity, promotions, communications, media research, planning, media relations and much more. These experiences help to provide useful technical skills and a strong background in public relations. Work may include, and is not limited to, any or all of the following:

– Media list development
– Press release drafting
– Client activities
– Event scheduling and planning
– Brainstorm sessions
– Internet research
– Administrative projects
– Media pitching
– Support of team leaders on activities and project


Qualifications:
– Passionate-interest in/understanding of public relations
– ‘B’ average or better
– Solid writer
– Strong computer skills
– Rising senior/Recent Graduate
– Available to work full-time for 10 week program.
