I discovered ET3 and Daryl Oster toward the end of Spring 2013, a few months before Elon Musk whispered about his Hyperloop (HLa) concept. I was intrigued by the vision, conceptualization, and readiness of Daryl and his team. After extensive research playing devil’s advocate, I was surprised that the idea of this new global transportation system is something that sold me. I was hooked: new obsession obtained.

I sent Daryl a note. A few days later I got a call and I couldn’t believe it was him. We spoke about ideas and challenges for over an hour and I was excited to get involved to help with their efforts.  Since then I have learned a lot more about ET3, and cannot wait for the live tests to begin as early as the end of 2013 in Las Vegas.

The man with the plan: Mr. Daryl Oster

Daryl Oster, 52, comes from a humble background on the outskirts of Denver, Colorado. He became fascinated with evacuated tube transport at an early age, and has dedicated his life and career to perfecting and implementing the designs. Through a myriad of odd jobs and moving around the country, Daryl and his wife have honed in on the goals of ET3 and are passionate about spreading the ideas while creating a platform on which other innovators can expand and make the rollout a realistic goal.

What is ET3?

“It’s global space travel, on Earth,” explains Oster. ET3 is short for Evacuated Tube Transport Technology. Most simply, think about the containers used to transport items at the bank on a larger scale. With Oster’s proposed idea(s), we will be able to transport humans and commodities safely and efficiently through a network of automated routes. Riders would be able to travel from NYC to LA in 45 minutes, or DC to Beijing in just two hours. Intrigued yet?

 What’s next?

ET3 needs to secure funding and begin live tests to boost public demand for implementation. I will keep you updated with any developments here, but you can connect with ET3 today: Web | Facebook. Oster explained that a 3-mile test strip may begin construction near Las Vegas in the coming months.
