On Friday, September 20th Student Intern Network and Global Voice Hall will kick-off our first nationwide event series entitled Rebuilding America: The Path of the Entrepreneur. Georgetown University will play host to the first leg of the tour, followed by universities in 7 other cities including Columbia, Harvard, and Stanford. The event will simultaneously mark the launch of Student Intern Network Communities (learn more).

Max Major will get everything started at 12pm with an ice-breaker performance and quick introduction to the event series. Max will talk about his personal growth as an entrepreneur and elaborate on his path to success.

After that, guest host Marcus Johnson will discuss the path of entrepreneurs, highlighting keys to success and shedding light on the types of support that are required for businesses to grow. 

 

Next, Donna Harris and Evan Burfield (founders of 1776, among other things) will touch on the role(s) of start-up accelerators, specifically pointing out how they educate entrepreneurs and provide strategic support.

Following their presentation, Zack Huhn will host a panel of judges as collegiate entrepreneurs pitch their ideas. The winner(s) of the pitch competition will be entered into the nationwide contest that comes with a large cash investment as well as business support and development assistance. Each team will have three minutes to present, followed by two minutes for Q&A’s. Registration for the pitch competition will open Sept 3rd.

Wrapping things up, their will be a brief closing presentation followed by complimentary food and beverages. Guests are encouraged to mix & mingle in the spirit of networking as there will be a number of notable attendees.

The winner(s) of the pitch competition will be announced on Friday evening at a cocktail event entitled Network to Success hosted by the event sponsors (location and time TBA).
