This
Fall’s looks for me are Annie Hall inspired, classic and simple lines, with
abstract silhouettes and subdued colors. For those who missed out on one of
Woody Allen’s best movies—Diane Keaton, who plays Annie Hall, is known for ushering
in an era of androgynous fashion. Fashion being circular, this fashion week had
many shows that sought to balance the masculine/feminine look in their designs.
Keep your colors simple and your outfit close to monochrome; your shoes and accessories
should stand out–be bold and colorful!

Tory Burch

Fall
Season’s Must Haves:

Oversized
geometric overcoat: Céline’s Fall 2013 line was chock-full of simple, chic, and
oversized pieces. This is a versatile coat that you can reuse for winter, and
will be a mainstay in your closet. Of course, very few people can afford
Céline—so just be in the lookout for similar pieces from other brands and
retailers. Also—try out the coat as a cape look. It adds an instant flair.

Alexandre Vauthier Fall 13

Cashmere
turtleneck and slouchy/harem/crepe/ boyfriend pants: everyone should have the turtleneck,
preferably in black, white, or beige. People always gravitate to Fall colors
during Fall—the beiges, the browns, the maroons, etc. I personally stay away
from these colors altogether—you want to stand out, not camouflage yourself
into nature. Pair your turtleneck with essentially anything—I really enjoy the slouchy pant combo. I personally love the more relaxed silhouette of these pants but it can make you look hippy, so purchase with caution.

Celine
Phantom: I’m in love with this bag, everyone has a version of it—from Tory
Burch to Steve Madden, to Michael Kors. Get this bag, or something like it, in
cream, soft gray, or black.

Brogues/Oxfords:
Every woman needs a pair of these. They are perfect with the Cashmere
turtleneck/boyfriend pant; however, you can also pair them with the most
feminine of outfits for an obvious juxtaposition of male/female fashion.

Booties/Flatforms/Sneaker Chic:
I am in love with suede booties for
Fall. I recommend something like the designs from Tory Burch, Sergio Rossi,
Reed Krakoff, or Pierre Hardy. I like the gold/silver detailing on the heels of
booties this season! Also—my absolute favorite trend for this season is sneaker
chic, flat ankle boots, or flatforms. Go for something abstract, woven, or with a pop of
color.

Scarves:
There is nothing that I adore more than an all-black ensemble with a colorful
scarf. It’s quintessentially chic, effortless, and immediately enlivens an
otherwise blah outfit. Load up on
prints, colors, and golds.

Signature
Scent: My favorite scent for the season is Modern Muse by Estee Lauder with
citrusy top notes and a woody base note. This is more of a day perfume; if
you’re looking for the nighttime alternative, I would suggest Amber by Prada.
It’s one of my all time favorite perfumes, but it’s not for the faint of heart
and is definitely a more mature scent.

Crazy
patterned tights: Pair some plain black shorts or miniskirt with a pair of
tights from designers like Henry Holland. Sexy, stylish, and warm-ish.
