Staying healthy, focused and energized can be as easy as minding a balanced diet, and this is especially important around mid-terms and exams. Here are some quick pointers to stay on top of your game. You can read the orignal post on Spoon University here.

1. Breakfast is for champions
The most important meal gets your day off on the right foot. Make sure you get some fruits, protein, dairy and grains to ensure you have all of the nutrients you need to be on top of your game.

2. Be cautious with caffeine
Overloading on caffiene will result in a major crash. Consume it sparingly and avoid it after dark if you are wanting to get to sleep at a reasonable hour.

3. Snack smart
Ditch the potato chips and candy bars for fruits, veggies, nuts and other healthy brain foods. Nothing new here!

4. Stay hydrated
Drinking water keeps your mind and body alert, refreshed, and healthy. Even if you aren’t thirsty try drinking a couple of glasses before hitting the sack.
