Fireworks Viewing Guide

From rooftops to public parks we’ve got you covered on the best places to catch the show.

National Mall  If you’re willing to brave the crowds, head there early and snag a spot at the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument or Jefferson Memorial.  With the best views in DC you won’t be disappointed.  If you take the metro, try to get on and off at the less touristy stops like Federal Triangle or the Archives and walk from there.

The U.S. Capitol – Another fan-favorite spot, the Capitol offers a concert that starts at 8:00pm.  Pack a picnic and go there early to get a great seat for later and enjoy the festivities.

Meridian Hill Park -This park doesn’t get as crowded as the Mall, but still offers a place to see the fireworks.  You still might want to get there early to ensure you get a prime spot for viewing.

National Cathedral – If you’d like a more low-key experience, this is a great place to get away from the crowds.  Since it’s one of the highest points in the city, you can still catch the show.

Beacon Bar & Grill– Pay $15 to get a picnic meal and then head to their rooftop bar to watch the show while you sip a drink. Does it get any better?
