Hey readers, this month we’re ditching the usual weekly event roundup for something a little different. Introducing BostInno’s master list of the best networking events, fireside chats and pitch sessions for the month of April. We’re looking to give you an earlier heads up so you can better plan out your schedule and make it to more of these events. That said, we’ll continuously update this list throughout the month, so keep checking in so you’re up to date.

For your tech side, however, here’s a look at BostInno’s Approved events for April.

Saturday, April 1

Investing in Discovery: 2017 Food Tank Summit Boston: This inaugural food tech summit is being held at Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University, from Saturday, April 1 at 9 a.m. to Sunday, April 2, at noon. Come meet experts and top leaders from the food tech industry through discussions and networking sessions. The event is sold out.

Week 1: April 3 - April 9

Monday, April 3

ACCELERATE-Boston: This three-day data science conference is hosted at Boston Marriott Copley Place Hotel from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sessions will focus on a range of topics, from basic data science skills to latest trends in machine learning. Pricing varies, register here.

Accelerating Sales from Traction to $10M: Held at 1 Main St. in Cambridge from 4 p.m. to 6, this event covers the process and methodology behind innovative sales growth. Joe Ippolito, a sales force development expert with Sandler Training, will be the main speaker. It is free to attend, but make sure to RSVP.

Tuesday, April 4

NewCo Boston 2017: Take your pick and tour Boston's most innovative companies in this two-day festival. Attendees will have the chance to check out the culture at Boston's top tech headquarters, including Akamai Technologies, Cengage, FinTech Sandbox and many more. Tickets range from free to $199.

Salary Negotiation – BOS Lady Project + AAUW Work Smart in Boston: This free event is held at General Assembly Boston HQ, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30. Women are invited to learn about the skills necessary to negotiate salary in the professional world. The event is free.

Wednesday, April 5

Datadog Spring Sales Meet + Greet: Sales professionals are invited to Scholar’s American Bistro + Cocktail Club in Downtown Crossing from 6 p.m. to 8:30. Datadog is actively looking for talent to build their sales team, so attendees in pursuit of opportunities are invited to network with team leads. It is free to attend.

Unconventional Thinking: How Neurodiversity Benefits the Tech Community: From 6 p.m. to 8, Cambridge Innovation Center will be hosting a talk on the intersection of neurodiversity, unconventional thinking and the tech community. Dan Bricklin, CTO of Alpha Software, will be one of the main speakers.  It is free to attend.

Thursday, April 6

Talk Data to Me: This monthly event is held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 at General Assembly Boston. Come learn about Analyze Boston, the city’s latest data project that includes facts and figures about life in the city. The open data hub, organized by the City of Boston, hopes to increase government transparency. The event is free.

Fireside chat with David Beisel of NextView Ventures: This chat is held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 at Cambridge Innovation Center. The speaker, David Beisel, will be discussing his experience with early-stage internet startups, seed financing and the impact of social media on venture capital. The event is free.

Friday, April 7

Babson Social Innovation Summit: This summit, themed around sustainable development, is held from 5:00 p.m. to 9 at Babson College. The night features a keynote presentation, panel discussions and a pitch challenge. Ticket prices range, from $0 to $25.

International Development Hackathon 2017: This hackathon lasts from 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 7, until 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 8. Attendees will learn about the intersection of international development and tech through mini-workshops, speaker sessions and networking sessions. The event is held at Tufts Collaborative Learning and Innovation Complex, and it’s free to attend.

Boston TechBreakfast: This month’s breakfast features executives from innovative startups such as Kaminario, Palatine Analytics, Skelmet and OutSystems. Learn about these disruptors and creators through showcase presentations and networking sessions. The event is from 8 a.m. to 9:15, at G2 Technology Group, Inc. at 320 Congress St., Boston. It is free.

Saturday, April 8

MassArt’s 16 Hours to Glory Industrial Design Competition: Part of the fourth annual Boston Design Week, this event combines design thinking and solution strategizing for innovative teams. From 8 a.m. to midnight, participants have a full 16 hours to solve a problem through creative thinking. The event is held at Massachusetts College of Art and Design in the Kennedy building. It’s free to sign up. 

Sunday, April 9

MIT India Conference 2017: MIT Media Lab will host its annual India conference, themed “Digital India,” from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Attendees will hear from top political and business executives on India’s innovation revolution and the resulting impact. Ticket prices range from $25 to $55.

Week 2: April 10 - April 16

Monday, April 10

Lean Startup Circle - A Playbook for Achieving Product-Market Fit: This informational event is held at 177 Huntington Ave., Boston, at 6:30 p.m. Learn how to help your startup find product-market fit through a six-step methodology created by product management consultant Dan Olsen. It is free to attend.

Droidcon Boston: This global developer conference series will run from 10 a.m. on April 10, to 10:30 a.m. on April 11 at Calderwood Pavilion. The event is meant to highlight the innovation coming out of the Android industry, and will feature over 25 speakers. Tickets range from $199 to $499.

Tuesday, April 11

Funding 101: Pathways to Funding Your Clean Tech Startup: Hosted by the Capital Network and Cleantech Open Northeast, this informational event will feature a variety of investing experts offering their advice on how to secure capital. The event is held at Greentown Labs in Somerville, from 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ticket prices vary from free to $35.

Wednesday, April 12

Startup Night at the Celtics: Celebrate the end of the Boston Celtics' season with Startup Stir at this special finale event. Network with special guests and other entrepreneurs at a private reception, then sit in as the Celtics face the Milwaukee Bucks. The event is held from 6:30 p.m. to 10, at TD Garden. Tickets are $44.

Ignite by InnovateEDU Pitch competition: From 6:00 p.m. to 9, student entrepreneurs will compete at Hatch Fenway in front of industry members and investors. The inaugural conference will work as a networking opportunity for entrepreneurs from Boston University, MIT, Northeastern and Emerson. You can register for your free ticket here.

Mass Innovation Nights 97: Join Amazon Robotics, MassTLC and MassRobotics at this month's innovative robotics meetup. The night begins at 6 p.m. at the Innovation and Design Building, at 25 Drydock Ave., Boston. It is free to attend, RSVP here.

Thursday, April 13

2017 Simmons Leadership Conference: This sold-out conference features top women executives from around the nation - including Reshma Saujani, the founder of Girls Who Code. Keynotes will touch upon how to climb the ladder, professional advice and the key to success. The event is sold out.

Breakfast, Networking and Cybersecurity: This discussion is held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 at Cambridge Innovation Center. A panel will cover the impact of cyber attacks for both individuals and small businesses. It is free to attend.

Empowering Public Health through Social Media “Spread Health”: Held at Teradata Labs at 330 Congress St., this event focuses on a web app that uses Twitter to spread health information to people. Zhen Wang, Ph.D., who is the creator of the app, will be giving a presentation on the intersection of data analytics and public health. It is free to attend.

Anomaly and Outlier Detection & Info session: Analytics Certificate Program: Held at the Anchor Room at 501 Milk Street, Boston, this educational talk will cover anomaly detection and dataset analysis. The skills learned will aid attendees with fraud detection and intrusion detection among other uses. The event begins at 6 p.m., and it is free to attend.

2017 Babson B.E.T.A Challenge Finals: Three Babson startups will have the opportunity to win a total of $100,000 in this pitch competition, held from 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Olin Hall in Babson College. It is free to attend.

Saturday, April 15

Digital Marketing Bootcamp: General Assembly hosts this marketing class from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., for professionals from all industries. Attendees will learn which digital channels are the best for their goals, as well as general brand and marketing strategies. Tickets are $250.

Sunday, April 16

MITxMake: Celebrate makerculture in this student-led festival, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center, in Cambridge. The event will educate attendees about companies using innovation and creation to their advantage, through paneled discussions and keynote speakers. Tickets range from $5 to $15.

Week 3: April 17 - April 23

Tuesday, April 18

Intro to the Boston Startup Community: Join Boston's tech know-it-alls in this panel discussion about startup culture. The conversation will range from the hottest upcoming tech events, to the VCs and startups you should be keeping your eyes on. (And guess what, our very own Dylan Martin is one of the panelists!)  It is free to attend.

TNB Roundtable: Nonprofit Communications Strategies that Get Results: Tech Networks of Boston hosts this roundtable series from 3:30 p.m. to 5 at Boston NonProfit Center, at 89 South Street. The main speaker, James Burnett, will be teaching attendees how to work with the press and maintain relationships with journalists. The event is free for non-profit professionals. However, it is currently sold out.

Lunch n' Learn: Stop by TrueMotion, at 186 Lincoln St., to learn the in's and out's of mobile app development and network. The event is hosted by Operation Code, and lunch is provided. It is free to attend.

Wednesday, April 19

F-Prime Founders Diaries with Mark McWeeny: Meet the CEO of Rue La La, Mark McWeeny, along with other of the city’s top executives at this free, casual event. Held at the 51 Melcher Street We Work location from 6:00 p.m. to 8, the evening will feature presentations from founders around the city. There will also be networking opportunities. It is free to attend.

How Side Hustles Can Help You Land Your Dream Job: Hosted at GA Boston from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30, this free event tackles how passion projects and side gigs can be used to your benefit in interviews. The event is free.

Out in Tech Boston hosts Building Careers and Cultures, a paneled discussion on inclusivity and acceptance of the LGBTQ community in the workforce. Visit the TripAdvisor Boston office from 5:30 p.m. to 8, in this free event.

Thursday, April 20

Kinetic Labs is hosting it's first ever open house from 6:00 p.m. to 8, at 181 South St. Powered by LaunchBye, the incubator invites entrepreneurs and seed-stage companies to network, converse and strategize. It is free to attend.

Saturday, April 22

Build Your First Web App Workshop: Hubspot's Cambridge office will host this workshop for local woman interested in and studying computer science. From 11:00 a.m. to 3 p.m., come learn about the world of programming for free.

Monday, April 24

Leadership & Libations with Jason Robins, DraftKings Founder and CEO: Meet the man behind one of the world’s leading fantasy sports platforms in this fireside chat at District Hall, from 6 p.m. to 8:30. Hosted by Pillar VC and Intelligent.ly, the event is free and open to the public.

Tuesday, April 25

April Meetup & Accelerator Showcase: LearnLaunch hosts this edtech meet up at its Summer Street office, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30. Meet breakthrough companies within the industry, and network with other members of the edtech community. Attendees will also learn about LearnLaunch accelerator program. It is free to attend.

Circles of Success Boston: OpFocus is holding an informational workshop from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at it's HQ at 78 Blanchard Road, Burlington, MA. Attendees will learn about Salesforce, marketing automation and data management. Space is limited, RSVP here.

Thursday, April 27

MassIntelligence Conference: In collaboration with MIT CSAIL, MassTLC presents a conference dedicated to artificial intelligence. The summit goes from 9:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m., at UMass Boston at 100 Morrissey Boulevard. Tickets range from $295 to $695, and there are student deals available.
